Metal Fabrication and Welding

Derecktor Design provides metal fabrication and AWS certified welding services at our Rhode Island production facility. We can fabricate the metal components you need and weld them into a complete assembly. We also offer design engineering and prototyping services.

Metal Fabrication and More

Derecktor Design uses CNC machining and waterjet cutting to fabricate aluminum, mild steel, or stainless steel components. In addition to the AWS-certified MIG and TIG welding that we perform in-house, we offer access to a trusted network of partners.

Through our partner network, we can provide the post-fabrication welding inspection services you need. Because many welded parts also need finishing such as polishing, anodizing, or powder coating, we also have partners who provide these services.

AWS Welding Certifications

Derecktor Design maintains the following AWS certifications:

AWS D1.1 (GMAW) for the structural welding of steel
AWS D1.6 (GTAW) for the structural welding of stainless steel

We can add new certifications for new projects if the investment is appropriate to the project’s scope and scale.

Aluminum Welding and Steel Welding

Derecktor Design mainly welds aluminum, mild steel, and stainless steel. We can also weld other metals, such as titanium, depending on the project requirements.

Aluminum welding up to 2” thick, depending on the size of the component
Steel and stainless steel welding up to 3” thick or more, depending on the part
Sheet metal welding for sheets as thin as 1/16”
Welded assemblies that range in size from one or two inches to over 9-ft. or more
