Photography and Rendering

Derecktor Design provides prototype photography and rendering services. As your prototypes evolve through multiple iterations, we can use photographs and renderings to document your project’s progress.

Prototype Photography

Derecktor captures images of prototypes for purposes that include documentation, evaluation and testing, visualization and communication, and promotion and marketing.

  • Documentation uses photos to provide a visual record of design features, and characteristics. See each part, product, or design iteration at a particular stage of development.
  • Evaluation and testing uses photos to help designers to assess a prototype’s functionality, aesthetics, ergonomics.
  • Visualization and communication helps convey ideas, concepts, and design intent in a way that’s easy to share among all stakeholders.
  • Promotion and marketing needs high-quality images to generate market interest, attract investment, or solicit feedback from customers.

Prototype Rendering

Prototype rendering creates visual representations or simulations of prototypes, typically with 3D modeling, engineering software, or other digital tools. The key aspects may include:

  • 3D modeling creates digital representations of the product’s geometry, components, surfaces, and features. In addition, it captures details such as dimensions, proportions, and textures.
  • Material and texture mapping applies textures, finishes, and surface treatments to 3D models to simulate the appearance of plastic, metal, glass, wood, or fabric.
  • Lighting and shading affects the perception of color, depth, and realism in the rendered images. Derecktor uses lighting setups and techniques to simulate natural or artificial lighting conditions, cast shadows, and create highlights and reflections.
