Prototype Testing

Derecktor Design provides prototype testing services and more. From engineering and design through manufacturing and fabrication, we are a full-service manufacturer that can both validate and build your design. We’re ready to support you at any stage of development, including idea generation, initial design, validation and testing.

Prototype Testing

Identifying and addressing any issues, defects, or deficiencies early in the development cycle before production or deployment begins can save you time and money. The benefits can include faster time to market for new product introduction (NPI).

Derecktor Design provides these and other forms of testing for prototypes:

  • Functional testing verifies that all features and components work as expected and meet the specified requirements.
  • Performance testing assesses the speed, responsiveness, efficiency, and scalability of the prototype under different conditions, such as speed and loads.
  • Reliability testing identifies potential weaknesses, points of failure, or problems with wear-and-tear under various operating conditions.
  • Usability testing evaluates a prototype’s ease of use, typically by observing and testing a user’s interactions.
  • Safety testing identifies potential hazards, risks, and safety concerns. It also assesses compliance with safety standards.
  • Compatibility testing determines how well the prototype integrates and interacts with other parts, products, devices, or systems.
  • Environmental testing assesses the prototype’s performance under environmental conditions such as temperature extremes, humidity, shock, and vibration.

Typically, the testing of prototypes is performed across multiple iterations of a part or product.

Prototype Testing to Validate Your Design

Let our experience put your design to the test.

Validating the viability of your prototype from usability, durability and manufacturability perspectives saves time and dollars by discovering problems at the prototype stage and not the production floor or worse – the customers’ hands.
